Randy Christian



Randy Christian was elected to serve on the Lubbock City Council as the District 5 Representative in May 2018.

Family Life 
Randy and his wife, Margaret have been married for over 37 years, and are the proud parents of two sons: Peter, who is employed by Applied Materials, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Philip, who is a graduate student in the College of Media and Communications at Texas Tech University, and pursuing a Master’s Degree. He currently lives in San Antonio and works for Enjoy.Com. Margaret, who after a lengthy career of service with the State of Texas, now serves as an auditor for Lubbock-based City Bank.

Professional Life
Randy is an award-winning and nationally recognized marketing professional with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. He majored in Radio/TV/Film at the University of North Texas (formally North Texas State University). Thereafter, as a new markets manager for Steak and Ale Restaurants, Christian opened numerous units in Texas, including Lubbock. Soon after arriving in Lubbock, he joined Waddington Advertising. Randy later become managing partner of Holland, Merriman and Christian, then Executive Vice President and Managing Partner of Fellers Marketing and Advertising, after which Randy launched his own agency, RC&P Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations. For the past five years, Randy has served as Marketing/Advertising Director for the McGavock Auto Group.

Community Service
Randy’s community service includes past membership on the Executive Committee of both the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and Lubbock Area United Way. He has also served as a Board Member of the Covenant Health Foundation, the Texas Tech University Chancellor’s Council and Jerry Gray Foundation. Randy also has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Joe Arrington Cancer Center, Board Chair of the American Cancer Society, Lubbock Chapter, and was part of the Lubbock Centennial Celebration Committee. Margaret and Randy attend Monterey Church of Christ and are actively involved in its Recovery in Christ ministry.

Public Service
Randy is a native West Texan and a lifelong conservative. As a small business owner, Randy will work to bring this perspective to the City Council, and will also seek the counsel of the residents of District 5. Public Safety will be Randy’s Number 1 priority, and he will likewise be working to promote a pro-business climate that will generate new jobs in Lubbock. Water conservation will always be a top priority for Councilman Christian. Advocating for and working towards strategies to fully utilize our City’s outstanding parks system is one of his goals. Randy wants to ensure that “Lucky me, I live in Lubbock’ isn’t just a slogan, but our anthem.
